She is an incredibly beautiful and intelligent girl who has her head on straight and her priorities in line. She's staying with my wife and me this week, and this morning I asked if we could go outside for a few minutes and take some pictures. [Read More...]

We went out at high noon, and because we were both getting ready to head out for the day, neither of us had much time. I also live in a pretty boring-looking apartment complex, so our location options were pretty limited as well. It was definitely a good exercise in looking for the best available light, and it was the first time I really took advantage of the live preview mode on my XSi. I wanted a really soft background, but I can't really trust my auto focus on any aperture wider than f2.8. I loved being able to see exactly where I the focal point was. I'll definitely be using this more in the future.

I did learn a little bit more about posing from going over the pictures from this session. There are definitely some things I would change, but I love them nonetheless.

Elizabeth was telling me today that she never got to have senior pictures, so I told her that these could be hers — only three years late.
